Fun and Cute....no not me, the card!

Hey!

Hope you're enjoying your weekend so far....it's soggy at our end but we've got a nice date night planned including popping out for some Mexican food and a trip to the cinema. Just gotta love lil' nights out like that ;D

Thank you so much for your really positive comments about my video tutorial - y'all so sweet! I'll definitely think about doing some more - lemme know if there's anything else you wanna see...within reason of course LOL!

Today I'm squeezing a card in before a deadline (as usual!) if you haven't already checked out Moxie Fab World, the other week they challenged us crafty peeps to try different styles of cardmaking with their Card Style Week . Now I went easy at first with the Clean and Graphic style, and there's just no way I'm even attempting the Shabby and Vintage, but I found I could challenge myself a little and go with Fun and Cute:

Card Recipe
Stamps: Hero Arts/PTI(sentiment)
Ink: Memento Black/Distress Ink Antique Linen
Card: PTI Vintage Cream/Kraft
Paper: Original Japanese Washi Paper
Accessories: Promarkers/PTI Cream Twine
/Glossy Accents

This card totally came together from the Moxie Tuesday Trigger for this week. Finally! I get to play along with a Tuesday Trigger!

Those lanterns reminded me of an old Hero Arts set I had which needed some inky lovin'. To make up for my neglect, I dressed up my Japanese Doll with original Washi Japanese Papers - I like to think she's got style! Oh and I complete covered her hair in Glossy Accents "Because she's worth it!" LOL!

Loadsa dimension going off on this card btw but the thing I like best is the twine used to hang my lanterns from!

So y'see I am spending my time wishing I was at CHA creatively still...what shall I make next? LOL!

Aimes on the Big Screen!

Hey!

Happy Friday, Peeps! Why do the weeks zoom by so fast when I'm on my summer hols?!

So if you didn't know already or you've been hiding under a rock for the last week, it's that time of year where I sit here, eager to get any sneak peaks from the CHA show! I'm totally jealous of anyone who manages to go y'know ;D

So how does a gal pass the time wishing she was there? Well she decides to getting around to stuff she said she'd do, but she's never done! So I decided on being super brave and I'm now featured on the big screen!!!!! What movie, you ask? Well I'm not on that big screen, but I have finally answered a few requests and have uploaded a little video I made last night to show you how I make my lil' bows for my projects. How else could I pass the time whilst I sit here jealous of everyone at CHA?! LOL!
So here it is, Aimes comin' at ya (well my voice anyways!) and showing you how to make the most easy, peasy bows ever! Huge credit goes to my very own mum for suggesting this technique to me. Mum, you've saved me many hours of ribbon fiddling with this, THANK YOU!!!!

Now before you criticise, I'd like to point out that this was filmed at night whilst my guy was out (I just know he'd make me crack up if he was around!) and not using the most fancy shmancy equipment! But after a million takes I'd like to think that it at least shows you how I make my bows and that's the main aim of the video, right?!

Enough babbling - Enjoy!

If you can't see the video try viewing it here

So I now expect you all to have the most gorgeous bows on your projects of course *wink*! And as you can see, I then put the bow I made in my video to good use :D

Chair-ish trio close up

Oh man I just ♥ these cards (am I allowed to say that?!)

I've gotta stop now and move onto a different design now though methinks LOL! But seeing as I've made these now, I figured that I could enter them into the Moxie Fab World: Card Style Week challenge for Clean and Graphic Cards. I have to say I think this style is my fave of all and one that I'll never tire of!

Thanks so much for stopping by and for checkin' out my premiere on the big screen - tee hee! Who knows how else I'll spend the time trying not to wish I was at CHA!

'chair-ishing' the holidays!

Hey!

Happy Tuesday!!!! I'm so happy that school's out for summer; 6 long weeks of pure inky-ness (oh and a few boring household chores too, but let's not think about them!)

Well I didn't waste anytime getting creative and yesterday spent hours creating a tip in my crafty corner - it's all part of the creative process in my book ;D

Today I'm featuring not one, but TWO cards. Well it's the same card but using a different colour but that still counts as two right?

chairish cards

These cards are for our new challenge on our PTI blog; the theme is friendship. I have to say that this theme is totally appropriate for both Kate and I seeing as we spent this past weekend together in person along with our other crafty friends Caryn and Steph. We shopped til' we dropped, chatted non-stop and finally managed to see Eclipse at the cinema! It's rare I get weekends like that so I really treated myself both with food and clothes shopping *wink*! Needless to day, gotta work off the treats in the gym for the next 6 weeks now LOL!

Full deets and a couple more pics of these cards are over here if you're interested! Oh and there's a rather funny pic of Kate and I on our weekend together posing in matching tops we were trying on during our girly shopping spree! Oooh and you know that if you live in Europe and play along with our challenge, you could be the lucky recipient of the sweet lil' PTI stamp set, Fly Away!

So don't delay, play along today!

Counting down....

Hey!

Well it's been a while but I'm back! And even better for you lot, I'm back with a card!

Ahhh it's been a crazy few weeks this end - Dad was discharged from hospital yesterday. Fingers crossed that this second discharge is the final one! Seeing him home makes me happier and reduces those stress levels slightly :D

And another way to reduce stress is to break up for the super long sweet summer holidays!!!! We don't break up until Friday but school is officially on it's 'Activity Days' which means lots of fun activities and trips for the last 3 days with the students. Wish I could spend it cardmaking but I can't complain about being paid to accompany a trip to the cinema and shopping tomorrow *wink*

Seeing as life is still kinda busy, it's a good job I have some cards to share that I made AGES ago. Apologies for the poor pic - not much I can do now the card has been given way LOL!

Card Recipe
Stamps: My Favourite Things - What's up Cupcake?/Hero Arts - sentiment
Cardstock: PTI Aqua Mist
Patterned Paper: From Stash (sorry!)
Accessories: Corner Rounder/Star Brad/EK Success Border Punch/Promarkers/Glossy Accents/Judikins Glitter

This was made for my SIL's birthday in early June. I couldn't resist a good dollop of sparkles on those sweet cupcakes!

Now I do have more back-up cards to share but I'm hoping that starting next week I'll have plenty of time on my hands to catch up with y'all in Blogland as well as getting inky of course! As for now though I need to keep walking around our apartment in some new high heels to bed them in for a wedding function tomorrow night! I have a feeling I'm gonna end up with sore feet tomorrow.....

Playing Catch Up!

Hey!

Well I have to say this week is totally dragging by for me! Maybe it's because of the dull (and in some cases thundery) weather more typical of a British summer, or maybe, just maybe (and more likely) it's because I'm counting down the days until we break up for summer ;D

Oh those long, sweet summer holidays can't come soon enough! Not only am I so ready for some R&R, I'm also ready for some time to get creative and back into the swing of stampin'! Speaking of which, I squeezed in a bit of time to get inky the other day and came up with this:

Card Recipe
Stamps: Background Basics: Text Style/Turning a New Leaf/Butterfly Dreams
Ink: Momento London Fog/Spring Moss/Versamark
Card: Hawaiian Shores/Stamper's Select White/Plum Pudding/Grey (from stash!)
Accessories: Simply Chartreuse Felt/Purple Felt/Medium Scallop Die/Butterfly Die/Nestabilities/Cuttlebug/Detail White EP/Glitter
/Rustic Twine/Hawaiian Shores Vintage Button

I know, totally different in style of card from my previous post!!!! I guess I'm so indecisive that I can't commit to an individual style of card LOL!

This card was made for the Papertrey Peeps Challenge #10, set by the uber talented Heather (you seriously have to check this girlie's blog if you haven't already - her creations and fab, fun style always make me smile :D) The challenge was to use the colour combo above and I'm not ashamed to say I struggled with this one. Kinda wish I'd gone super CAS now as it's a bit too busy for me today but still, I'm here to share not only the good but the bad (and when I'm feeling really brave, the ugly) cards with y'all. I don't believe anyone who suggests they've never made a card they're not too sure about!

Oooh and if you haven't spotted it already; I replaced Simply Chartreuse ink with Spring Moss because my SC ink cube is just bleurgh! Not the colour PTI or I want it to be; so glad PTI are sorting out the ink situation but too impatient to have to wait until autumn for the new inks LOL!

OK I've got a long way to go before I'm caught up on the Papertrey Peeps' challenges and many others that I want to play along with so I apologise, but hopefully the typical British summer may give me an excuse for lots of time in my lil' creative corner ;D

One for my Honey...

Hey!

Life is ever busy with Dad been taken back into hospital today - *sigh* Fortunately it was a good job we took him down for a thorough check as he was feeling very breathless (more than he should be) because he had lots of fluid on his heart on lungs. Good news is that he's being drained (eurgh! that sounds gross but it's the technical term I promise!) as we speak, is in good spirits and will be home towards the end of this week - phew! Still, means I'm gonna be busier than I thought this week but so long as he's OK I'm a happy gal! I'm just so glad the Doctor took the extra precaution of suggesting we get him checked out!

So before life got kinda busy again, we spent this past weekend celebrating Chris' birthday! He spent Friday out on the town with his friends, trying to prove that he's still not too old to know how to party by returning at some ridiculous hour of the morning (luckily to his parent's house and not disturbing my own beauty sleep LOL!) but it then took nearly the whole weekend to recover from it! Maybe not too old to party, but definitely too old to be out so late - tee hee!

Anyways as you can imagine, I obviously had to make a card for my honey's birthday and it had to feature his fave colour (which just so happens to be mine too!)

Card Recipe
Stamps: Star Prints/Background Basics: Text Style/Fancy Flourishes/Daily Design Sentiments/Vintage Labels
Ink: Dark Chocolate/Versamark
Card: Vintage Cream/Kraft/New Leaf
Accessories: New Leaf Twill Ribbon/Clear EP
/Cuttlebug/Nestabilities

So many stamp sets used on a such a CAS card! I know it's very CAS but believe me when I say this is totally Chris! If he were a cardmaker (and there's time yet to convert him...) he would be a fan of CAS cards. My assumption comes from his motto, "Mess is Stress!"

I just wish I could abide by the motto as well as he does *sigh*!

Oh and just by pure coincidence, this card fits in for our new challenge on our PTI blog in which we wanna projects that feature the use of dies! Feel free to join in, in fact I'd love it if you did!

Ooh and I've just discovered this CAS Challenge site so have entered this lil' card over there for this week's challenge which is to use Kraft on a CAS card!

Order is restored: he's HOME!

Hey!

D'ya remember me at all?!?! LOL!

Thank you so much for your well wishes for my Dad and my family through what has been a very stressful couple of weeks! I can finally report that my dad is HOME! We've all waited on tenterhooks for the day we could say it; it seemed like one thing after another with him in hospital but finally, he's actually at home resting nicely! It's still a long recovery process for him that he's nowhere near the end of, and we're all gonna have to keep our beady eyes on him because I just know he'll try and do too much too soon because that's the kinda guy he is! But at least he's home and that large cloud of stress and anxiety has lifted...

...so what's a gal to do when that cloud lifts? Well stamp of course *grin* d'ya know how much my fingers have itched to get inky?! I craved my 'me' stampy time and totally de-stressed by indulging in it! Here's the result of my lil' session:

It's a CASE of this card I made earlier. I found that my mojo had gone a little AWOL so I like to get into the swing of stamping again by a good ol' CASE. I'm sure I'll be back into the groove of stamping and creating in a few days time!

Card Recipe
PTI Supplies
Stamps: Friends 'til the End/Background Basics: Text Style
Ink: Hawaiian Shores/Spring Moss
Card: Hawaiian Shores/Stamper's Select White/New Leaf
Papers: Green Boutique
Accessories: Metal Sheet/Cuttlebug/PTI Butterfly Die/Swiss Dot Embossing Folder/Hawaiian Shores Ribbon/EK Success Border Punch

FYI: I had the sweet butterfly sitting on my desk from a result of a creative session ages ago - I tried cutting some sheets of metal with a PTI die and it cut like buttah! So I went one step further and embossed it too - lovin' the dimension it adds. And now I look at this photo, I'm gonna take this card for some distressing treatment - I think it craves some subtle green ink around the outside!

Right then, I've got a lot of catching up to do. Google reader has gone crazy over the amount of posts I've gotta catch up on LOL! It's gonna take me a week to catch up with everything but at least I'll have had a good dose of inspiration to get inky again soon ;D

Catch ya later (but not too much later!)
